Victoria Palace Theatre

Since the year 1832, the stunning Victoria Palace marked its existence. Earlier, it was known as Moy’s Music Hall, whereas renamed in the year 1863 as Royal Standard Music Hall. Year 1886 marked the demolition of old building followed by rebuilding with the same name till 1910. Theatre was renovated for the incorporation of electricity and various other major developments.

In the year 1911, theatre made its opening as the Victoria Palace Theatre. The Grade II listed building has an astounding occupancy of 1550 and spread all over three levels. During its great term, theatre has hosted some of the brilliant productions, huge range of acts and revues. Victoria Palace Theatre has hosted varied range of successful shows. In the year 1937, original production of Me and My Girl made its debut here followed by another hugely popular show, The Black and White Minstrel Show. Latter ran from the year 1960 to 1972.

Some other notable productions of Victoria Palace Theatre are Annie, Windy City, The Little Foxes and High Society, as well as the Buddy Holly musical. During the recent years, theatre hosted some of the blockbuster musicals like Fame, Kiss Me Kate and The Rocky Horror Show. Currently, Billy Elliot is running since 2705!
